Okay!
I'm through the first month of college!
Most will not consider this to be an achievement. Some will not even think of this as a milestone. But I, as you will soon discover, have a different opinion. College life, though AMAZING! (No doubts about that) has a few glitches.
The biggest one - waking up early in the morning!
After almost four months of crazy time tables and weird sleeping hours (a friend of mine used to sleep from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) waking up early, how do I put it, did not come easily. But thanks to advanced alarm systems a.k.a my mother, I have been able to get to college on time.
The next: the lost look on every fresher and the smug Now-I'm-a-senior look on the second year student's faces and the ah-!-new-stock look on the third year's is a common sight, even after a month. Probably the only difference between the first day and now is that we know where our classes are!
Another: The "Sir" syndrome. ('nuff said) (More about that later)
And that's about it!
On the point of sounding like a total pessimist, I must clarify that I am, for all intents and purposes the eternal optimist.
I did not enlist the good things about college because the list is never ending.
for example:
1. The "Flexible" timings
2. Great hangouts
3. Awesome friends
4. Ample opportunity
5. The feeling of being an adult (FINALLY!!)
.
.
.
(The list can go on...)
So all in all, I love college.
Now coming to the name of my blog- The Cape In College!
Everyone has within them a secret masked crusader, wanting to fight for one thing or another. I'm not saying that each one is correct. But yes, each one of them, in its own way, has a right to be heard and expressed. It might be a long standing grudge with the education system or a mild aversion to the cafeteria line.
My advice- Set the cape in you free!
Express you opinion and stay strong!
In further posts (If any) I'll try to express my concerns, my problems and things that bug me because I think you, like me will have a secret dark side to your personality and would want to scream at those you have no power over. But, because of a slightly-bigger-size of my opponents and absolute lack of control over the "system", I chose to express my views here.
Till the next time- May your Inner Cape shine!!
